After a critically acclaimed, sold out national tour in support of their latest EP Bad Reality and a show-stopping set at Triple J’s One Night Stand in Dalby, Queensland, the sisters Findlay, better known as psychedelic rock quartet STONEFIELD, are set to release their biggest single yet, the irrepressible “Ruby Skies”.
Says lead singer Amy: “Ruby Skies is a song that is very close to us as a band. It was a song I had wanted to write for a long time but could never find the right words. It’s about a friend of mines experience in the Black Saturday bush fires, escaping as her house burnt to the ground”
“An airy, almost dreamy refrain of Ruby Skies title punctuates thudding drumbeats and Hendrix-esque shredding for maybe the most mature-sounding and controlled number on the entire disc” – Pages Digital, May 2012
In addition to the single release, the band’s aforementioned One Night Stand set is scheduled to air on Triple J’s Live At The Wireless program at 8pm tonight, Monday June 25th, with a repeat at 5pm on Sunday July 1st.
