Off the back of her 2016 album release At Swim, produced by The National’s Aaron Dessner, Lisa Hannigan has recorded a standalone cover of David Bowie’s ‘Oh! You Pretty Things’. The release coincides with her recently announced Australian tour, which includes a special performance at Sydney’s Vivid Festival.

The Irish artist recently sold-out her show at New York’s Bowery Ballroom and played a mesmorising NPR Night Owl session. 2017 will mark another Australian tour for Lisa, following her 2004 shows with Damien Rice, her 2011 acclaimed performances at the Sydney Opera House and the Melbourne Recital Centre as part of a series of concerts produced by Joe Boyd to honour the late Nick Drake, and 2014 as a guest of Glen Hansard.
At Swim is the stunning new album from Lisa Hannigan, produced by The National’s Aaron Dessner. It’s her third, and arguably most bewitching record, which follows the double-platinum, Mercury-nominated debut Sea Sew and 2011’s follow-up Passenger.
While At Swim is in part about homesickness and isolation, it’s also – profoundly and very movingly – about love. At Swim was recorded in a church in Hudson, New York, during a furiously creative seven-day stint. Despite openly being written lost-at-sea, you sense that at this point in her career Lisa Hannigan is now a strong enough swimmer to go as far out as she wants; to darker depths than before, where the treasure lies, and bring it back to us.
