ASH WILLIAMS
BACK IN BUSINESS
APRIL 2017
Presented by Frontier Comedy

After a sell-out season with his first ever festival show- 2016’s I’ve Done Some Bad Things Ash Williams is Back In Business!

When Ash notoriously moved to Los Angeles to pursue his comedy and acting career, he kept up his radio and TV duties back home, with appearances on Peter Helliar’s It’s A Date, Adam Hills’ In Gordon Street Tonight, segments on The Morning Show and Studio 10, and regular guest spots on comedy podcasts TOFOP with Wil Anderson and I Love Green Guide Letters.

Contrary to his crazy (and all 100% true!) tales he was actually quite successful over there too, landing roles on TV and regular spots at the world famous Comedy Store in L.A. But Ash isn’t here to tell you about the wins…The past year has been big for Ash: he moved out of his Mum’s house, he paid his younger brother back (with real money), and he is even answering private phone numbers again. Enjoy more true and wild stories from this modern day businessman who is doing more back alley deals than ever.

‘It’s good to be back in business’ – Ash Williams

‘Ash is definitely not back in business’ – Ash’s accountant (who is also a cat)

JOSH WADE
ME, MYSELF & CUNNY
APRIL 2017
Presented by Frontier Comedy

Sharp-witted online superstar Josh Wade has been selling out stand up shows across the country since he was just 15 years old! Now in 2017 Josh is back with a brand new show Me, Myself & Cunny. In this audio-visual spectacular, Josh explores his relationship with the many masks and characters he has developed throughout his lifetime as an attempt to fit in, and his 20 year quest to find his comedic counterpart – ‘Cunny’.

Josh’s journey of self-discovery touches on the many issues facing Gen Y today – from religion and spirituality to drugs and alcohol to domestic violence and sexual abuse – and how these experiences led to the creation of his most well-known character ‘Cunny’. No topic is left untouched in this show that promises to be shocking, crude, uncomfortable, but most all – honest.

KHALED KHALAFALLA
LOOSE
MARCH/APRIL 2017
Presented by Frontier Comedy

Khaled Khalafalla is Loose. He’s divisive, he’s cheeky and he’s Australia’s most charismatic comedian. Dubbed the next “huge mainstream star” by The Age when he was just starting out, Khaled has awed audiences all around the world- from royalty in the Middle East to Aussie troops in Afghanistan to the invitation-only New York Comedy Festival. He toured with Jim Jefferies in 2016, opening his biggest shows in front of ten thousand people at Perth Arena, and was the world’s first comedian to perform at Melbourne’s Margaret Court Arena.

With his compelling looks and intelligent social commentary, he is Australia’s most talked about rising star, his undeniable charisma earning him a spot on news.com.au’s end of year list as one of just seven actors from all over the world set to explode in 2017.” After hosting a TV show (Studio 3 for ABC3), Khaled’s first major acting role was co-starring in the feature film Ali’s Wedding, and he soon after landed a regular co-starring role on ABC’s hit series, Upper Middle Bogan. He’s featured on SBS’s Stand Up At Bella Union, and the Just For Laughs’ Stand-Up Series filmed for the Comedy Channel at the Sydney Opera House. He’s making waves, he’s getting into trouble, and outgrowing every venue he performs in. Don’t miss Khaled – live and Loose at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival!

‘Among a sea of comedians that flood the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Khaled Khalafalla stands out.’ – Herald Sun

‘Khaled is one not to miss.’ – The Music

LIAM RYAN
WELL THAT’S DISAPPOINTING
APRIL 2017
Presented by Frontier Comedy

Following a sold-out season at last year’s Melbourne International Comedy Festival Liam Ryan (SBS Comedy, ABC Fresh Blood, Nova, The Comedy Channel) is back with a fresh, high-energy stand-up show…but he’s not who we are here to see.

Tonight we have all come to watch a true superstar of the stage! Liam is just the warm-up act for our legendary headliner- who is nowhere to be seen. Unavoidably delayed we are told. But the audience is ready and waiting. With time marching on Liam will have to swallow his pride and dig deep to keep the show on track, the audience fired up and his bitterness in check as we wait for the main event to begin any second NOW! No? … Well that’s disappointing.

Featuring fast paced tales of past failures, “razor-sharp” (Herald Sun) stand-up and high-energy improv, Liam will throw everything he has at the audience to keep them where they need to be. Even if the VIP is not.

★★★★ ‘A comedy festival nugget of gold’ – Herald Sun

‘Essential viewing. It’s an hour of non-stop laughs from a performer that just keeps getting better every year.’ – Squirrel Comedy

NEEL KOLHATKAR
#OBJECTIFYNEEL
MARCH/APRIL 2017
Presented by Frontier Comedy

Neel Kolhatkar believes that brown men need to be sexually objectified more. He hates political correctness and hates people that say they hate political correctness – and he will tell you why.

Rapid-fire, accent-slinging, no-holds-barred yet boyishly charming Neel is straight-shooting and boundary-breaching. His “disarming charisma” (The Guardian) will leave you comfortable enough to laugh embarrassingly loudly. He’s collected 5 star reviews across the globe, performed to sell-out crowds and left in his wake a trail of dazzled critics and adoring fans. He’s a megastar online with over a million followers across social media.

#ObjectifyNeel is a must see for anyone desensitized by the barrage of useless information fired at them daily. It’s an examination of race, youth, culture and politics through the lens of a cynically optimistic, barbarously honest 22 year old. Whether you want to save trees or make G’s there’s something in this show for everyone.

★★★★★ ‘you need to see Neel Kolhatkar…he will have you wishing the show hadn’t been only an hour’ – Broadway Baby (UK)

★★★★★ ‘clever, incisive and outright hilarious’ – Theatre People

★★★★★ ‘one of the best young comedians that Australia has to offer’ – Weekend Notes
