Amber Arcades, the moniker of Dutch-born musician Annelotte De Graaf, has shared a brand new track ‘Wouldn’t Even Know’ along with the video, taken from the upcoming five track Cannonball EP, out now through Heavenly Recordings. The single features vocals from Bill Ryder-Jones.

Annelotte said the following about the song:

“This may be the song I’m most proud of so far… It’s been a long time in the making, starting out with the chorus which I initially thought was gonna be for a funky kind of jam. Then after a long time fermenting in my brain I pieced it together with this slow Yo La Tengo kinda verse that’d been popping up in my thoughts. The result is this tune which makes me feel melancholic but uplifted at the same time. Also super into Bill’s vocals on it. His dark broody voice really ties it all together.”

The Cannonball EP was recorded at Strange Weather Studio in New York with producer Ben Greenberg whilst the band were on tour and is the follow-up to last year’s critically acclaimed debut album Fading Lines. The EP opens with Amber Arcades’ reworking of the classic Nick Drake song, ‘Which Will’ featuring her trademark ethereal, hazy, krautrock sound. The BBC 6 Music A-Listed ‘It Changes’ follows, which is possibly Amber Arcades’ most irresistible and compelling pop single to date, while a video for ‘Can’t Say That We Tried’ was also released. The EP closes with the title track, the brand new and as-yet-unheard ‘Cannonball’. The artwork was designed by Nick Helderman who has photographed all of Amber Arcades’ artwork and photos to date.
