The release of British India’s new single, Precious comes at a revolutionary time for the band. For the first time in a remarkable 6 album career, the four-piece have teamed up with an external producer, exploring visceral new dimensions and intensity in their song writing. Premiered on triple j Good Nights, Precious is our first insight into new music for 2017 and is the lead track from a forthcoming LP, which Liberation is excited to release in the coming months.

The reimagined sound prevalent on Precious has been produced by Holy Holy’s Oscar Dawson and features backing vocals from fellow indie rocker Ali Barter. Recorded at Melbourne’s iconic Sing Sing Studios, the track vaunts distorted guitars ready to knock your walls down, it’s full bodied noise accelerated through wild, tight drumming. Declan’s definitive vocal echoes with strength amongst the chaos, as he expresses the tragic beauty of momentary bliss.

If everything could stay the same as it is right now
When everything is f*cking precious
Why does it have to be so precious now
Why does life have to be so precious

Throughout their 10 year career, British India have earned themselves four Top 10 ARIA albums, seven entries into the Hottest 100 and I Can Make You Love Me is accredited Gold status in Australia. Precious follows on from last year’s single, I Thought We Knew Each Other which was spun on high rotation at triple j and resulted in an 11-date national tour, plus a spot on the Groovin The Moo circuit. Their previous LP, ‘Nothing Touches Me’ featured popular singles, Suddenly and Wrong Direction which have collectively accumulated over 3 million Spotify streams.
