“Ask me no questions, I will tell you no lies, careful what you wish for. We’re looking for angels in the darkest of skies… I’m not asking for a miracle,” CHVRCHES frontwoman Lauren Mayberry demands on the band’s new song ‘Miracle’, which they’ve shared today ahead of the release of their new album, Love Is Dead, out May 25th through Liberator Music/Goodbye Records.

‘Miracle’ was premiered in Australia on triple j, along with the announcement that CHVRCHES will return to Australia to play Splendour In The Grass this July.

‘Miracle’ was produced by Steve Mac (Ed Sheeran – ‘Shape Of You’), and on working with the mega-producer, the band says: “‘Miracle’ is the only song from Love Is Dead that we didn’t write and record in the States, instead producing it in London with Steve Mac. Steve is such an intuitive writer with such a killer ear for melody and working with him felt very easy and natural. He makes space for everyone in the room and really pushes people to try things and go outside of their comfort zone, in a good way.”

For the first time in their career, Love Is Dead sees CHVRCHES welcome outside influences, not only working with Steve Mac, but also the 2017 and 2018 GRAMMY Producer Of The Year Greg Kurstin, who co-produced nine tracks.

‘Miracle’ is the fourth track released from the forthcoming record, following ‘Get Out’, ‘My Enemy (feat. Matt Berninger)’, and ‘Never Say Die’. Love Is Dead is at times euphoric and at others bittersweet. It is an album about growing up and “coming to terms with the fact that there are great things in the world and there are awful things in the world and that you can’t get one without the other,” says Mayberry.

CHVRCHES is Lauren Mayberry, Iain Cook and Martin Doherty. The band released their critically acclaimed debut The Bones Of What You Believe in 2013, which earnt them a Brit Award nomination. Their follow-up, Every Open Eye, charted at #3 on the ARIA chart, #4 on the UK chart, #8 on the Billboard 200, and top-20 in ten other countries worldwide.
