Cloud Control has unlocked another taste of the band’s forthcoming album ZONE, via tasty, beat-driven banger ‘Treetops’.

Produced by Cloud Control with extra production by George Nicholas (Seekae)- a good friend of the band who also mixed the track. Treetops was written and tracked in a beach shack near Forster on the NSW north coast; the breezy beach vibes creeping into the song via the carefree vocal melodies that adorn the track’s undeniable groove.

In singer/keyboardist Heidi Lenffer’s own words:

“It’s (‘Treetops’) about the feeling of being expanded by another person. I started with the lyric “you cover everything like the atmosphere around me”, which was inspired by Anais Nin, describing how her partner “covers me like the sky”. And then we just followed that expansive, elevating motion of a slow growth relationship; like a really old tree and the sky.

It features a 4-hand Juno performance, where Ul and I ad-libbed together on the rhythmic keys bass, first as a joke, but then it became the backbone of the song. We wanted to create a vibe that sounded like a song that gets played near the end of a chill house party.”

Out on 1st of September, the band’s third album ZONE was produced by front-man Alister Wright in a series of DIY home studios where the band set up camp over the last three years.
