Still Let You Down

DAY WAVE
STILL LET YOU DOWN
(single out now through I OH YOU/Liberator Music)

Day Wave has returned with a new single, ‘Still Let You Down’. Premiering on Sirius XMU, ‘Still Let You Down’ is co-produced by Isom Innis (Foster The People) and written by Jackson Phillips (Day Wave vocalist and multi-instrumentalist), and marks the exciting return of the Oakland-bred indie rock musician. ‘Still Let You Down’ is the first single off Day Wave’s upcoming project due later this year.

‘Still Let You Down’ is Day Wave’s first release since last year’s debut album The Days We Had, which attracted worldwide praise from the likes of Entertainment Weekly, who wrote, ‘[Phillips’] sharp ear for melody — coupled with a voice that evokes Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo at his most romantic — elevates Day Wave above other acts in the crowded genre.’ Paste said, ‘Day Wave has cultivated a winning and remarkably consistent formula… one of the more memorable debuts of 2017.’ Harper’s Bazaar highlighted the album in their 22 Albums You Need To Listen To list, describing the music as, ‘the kind of lazy, beachy vibe you’ll be tuning into throughout the summer.’

In 2014, Jackson Philips skipped the City of Angels and trekked north to the Bay Area after leaving Berklee School of Music, where he created Day Wave. He has since received praise from Noisey, Consequence of Sound, Stereogum, The FADER, and many more, in addition to support from triple j, FBi Radio, Beats 1, KCRW, Sirius Alt Nation, and XMU. With self-released singles and EPs and debut album The Days We Had under his belt, Day Wave is currently working on his next project due later this year.
