Drenge’s highly anticipated third album Strange Creatures is out today, and from it comes the single ‘Never See The Signs’. ‘Never See The Signs’ is agile and foreboding, and it’s an electrifying taste of what to expect on Strange Creatures.

Drenge say,

“Our latest exploration of the pop song involves a battle reenactment between razor sharp synthesisers and punishingly shrill guitars, set sometime in the late 1970s. The ghosts of Italo disco mutter disapprovingly in the corner as they sip Disaronno on ice. The snare drum rattles like the tail of a desert snake with a fondness for pop gossip and internet culture. I never see the signs.”

‘Never See The Signs’ has just been added to BBC 6 Music, and is receiving support from BBC Radio 1. To celebrate the release of Strange Creatures, the album will be Album Of The Day on BBC 6 Music next week.

Strange Creatures is produced by longtime collaborator Ross Orton (Arctic Monkeys, M.I.A.), and was recorded in Sheffield, just outside of the band’s hometown of Castleton.

Brothers Rory and Eoin Loveless formed Drenge whilst in their mid-teens. Their raw, grunge-inspired blues-pop was cultivated from the countryside landscape and their desire to escape from it. Their self-titled debut was released in 2013, followed by Undertow in 2015. The band have toured with festivals and headline shows across the world, playing with the likes of Wolf Alice and Arctic Monkeys.
