“Armed with just two guitars, the duo reel you in with seriously catchy hooks and achieve more depth with these songs than any drum kit ever could.”NME

“An arresting combination”Guardian New Band of the Week

“It’s brilliant.”The Line of Best Fit

LA duo, Girlpool have shared ‘Blah Blah Blah’, the latest single from their debut self-titled EP, out digitally via Wichita Recordings on 17th November.

‘Blah Blah Blah’ is 2 minutes of no-nonsense guitar-wielding fun in ode to those moments when, really, you wish someone would just shut the hell up.

Last month, Girlpool debuted the first single from the EP, ‘Jane’, which Pitchfork called “a murder ballad drawn in crayons, with red scribbly blood exploding at the edges” and was featured as the soundtrack to the unveiling of Stella McCartney’s Summer 15 collection.

Girlpool is a Los Angeles based two piece made up of Cleo Tucker (Guitar) and Harmony Tividad (Bass). Having met at local DIY venue, The Smell, the two quickly grew very close. Their sound is raw, comprised only of a guitar, bass and vocal harmonies.  The band uses this stripped-down instrumentation to accentuate their vulnerable yet powerful lyrics to create honest pieces, tackling concepts ranging from self-awareness and respect to the simple of feeling of being alone at a show. | |
