“When I heard Sean Carey sing the vocals on this song for the first time, I felt this feeling I get when a piece of music really connects with me. It’s this nexus of familiarity and new. It reminds you of somewhere you are coming from and moving towards” – Gordi

“My favourite Aussie artist” – Troye Sivan
“I need to keep listening to these amazing songs” – The Tallest Man On Earth
“What’s not to like about this” – Stuart Murdoch (Belle & Sebastian)
“New label mate seriously crushing music” – Justin Vernon (Bon Iver)
“Watching Sophie perform intimidates me” – Dave Le’aupepe (Gang Of Youths)

‘I’m Done’ is the latest single to surface from Gordi’s acclaimed debut LP, Reservoir. Featuring the vocals of friend and collaborator, S. Carey (Bon Iver), ‘I’m Done’ is a special moment on the album. Positioned after the dramatic ‘Heaven I Know’, we take a breath and let the minimal arrangement and heartfelt lyrics sink in.

Gordi has also revealed the accompanying video filmed by Melbourne multidisciplinary artist, Giulia McGauren. The songs themes are beautifully portrayed through interpretive movement and a grey, smoky atmosphere. Watch it here.

“The video was inspired by Bernini’s Apollo and Daphne; a statue that captures an entire narrative in an instant”
– Gordi

Since its release in August, Reservoir has made waves around the globe and its momentum continues to grow, winning fans in many high profile artists. Gordi is currently on a massive 23-date tour throughout the US and Canada supporting Son Lux, and joining musical companion S. Carey on his album tour for ‘Hundred Acres’, on which she features on three tracks. With her medical studies behind her, Gordi (aka Sophie Payten) is also returning to SXSW next week to play eight showcases over three days (see below for dates/venues). NPR has handpicked the young artist to feature in The Austin 100 – a mixtape consisting of the best that SXSW 2018 has to offer.

In exciting news for local fans, Gordi has announced she’ll be supporting Australian icon Missy Higgins on her upcoming Solastalgia Tour in May – presented by Frontier Touring. These will be Gordi’s first Australian shows since her national album tour in Nov/Dec, which saw her sell out her largest rooms to date in Melbourne, Sydney and Fremantle. Till then, immerse yourself in Gordi’s recent live performance on KEXP filmed in Reykjavik during Iceland Airwaves.

Reservoir was crowned Feature Album on triple j and also received a nomination for Australian Album of the Year. It’s received high praise by trusted tastemakers online and in print, featuring in numerous Best Albums of 2017 lists. Past singles ‘On My Side’, ‘All The Light We Cannot See’ and ‘Can We Work It Out’, made their way into rotation at triple j and community radio and have amassed over 8 million streams on Spotify. Reservoir’s release has also led Gordi to tour alongside Asgeir, Feet Foxes, Metronomy, Julien Baker and Gang of Youths. In the lead up to the album, she appeared on Tonight With Jimmy Fallon, singing with Bon Iver.

Reservoir was produced by Gordi and co-produced alongside Tim Anderson (Solange, Banks, Halsey), Ali Chant (Perfume Genius, PJ Harvey) and Alex Somers (Sigur Ros). It’s out now through Liberation Records locally and Jagjaguwar outside Australia and NZ. Limited magenta vinyl is available now at
