James are proud to release a new track, ‘Coming Home (Pt. 2)’, from their forthcoming album Living In Extraordinary Times. ‘Coming Home (Pt. 2)’ premiered on BBC Radio 2 with Jo Whiley & Simon Mayo. The song features sonic interference from long time James collaborator and musical innovator Brian Eno.

‘Coming Home (Pt. 2)’, concerning the pain of being a working parent away from their child, is part two to the classic James hit ‘Come Home’. “I wrote [1989 single] ‘Come Home’ feeling shit about leaving my older kid and splitting up with his mum,” explains Booth. “This is a part two, a sequel to that. My family is together but I’m away travelling a lot. Doing what I love.”

‘Coming Home (Pt.2)’ is taken from the forthcoming new album Living In Extraordinary Times. Released on 3rd August, the album is produced by Mercury and Brit Award winner Charlie Andrew (whose previous work includes alt-J and Wolf Alice) and rising star Beni Giles. Living In Extraordinary Times follows the release of their hugely successful 2016 album Girl At The End Of The World, which debuted at number two in the UK album charts, second only to Adele – their highest debut entry in nearly twenty years.

James are one of the UK’s most creatively restless and most loved artists. After signing to Factory Records in 1982, the band went on to release a series of successful hit singles. From ‘Sit Down’ to ‘She’s A Star’, ‘Laid’, ‘Come Home’, ‘Moving On’ to ‘Nothing But Love’, their uniquely diverse sound spans over 14 studio albums released over three decades, achieving both critical and commercial success whilst also curating a base of dedicated fans and selling over 25 million albums worldwide, playing shows across the globe and cementing their status as one of the most iconic live British bands.
