(single taken from the album Volcano, out now through Heavenly Recordings)

Hot off the back of Volcano, their second album release, UK band Temples have unleashed their glistening new single ‘Born Into The Sunset’.

The summery ‘Born Into The Sunset’ follows previous singles from Volcano ‘Strange or Be Forgotten’, playlisted on BBC 6Music & receiving strong support from KCRW, and first single ‘Certainty’ – which was added to rotation on triple j and claimed the #1 spot on Hype Machine for four days.

It doesn’t take too long with Volcano to realise that, while all the things that made Temples special the first time around remain intact, a noticeable evolution has taken place. It’s there from the outset: the beefed-up beats of ‘Certainty’ reveal an expanded sonic firmament, one in which bright synth hooks and insistent choruses circle around each other over chord sequences that strike the right balance between nice and queasy.

The praise for Volcano speaks volumes:  Album of The Week on TheMusic (4 & ½ stars), NME (4 stars), Exclaim (8/10), DIY Magazine (4/5 stars) & more.

Temples achieved acclaim with debut album Sun Structures, a Top 10 UK debut named Rough Trade’s “Album of the Year” in 2014, triple j Feature Album, festival appearances including Glastonbury, Bonnaroo, Primavera Sound and Lollapalooza, amongst many others, sold-out shows in Sydney and Melbourne as well in UK venues such as London’s Shephard’s Bush Empire, and performances on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” and “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”.

Temples are currently touring throughout the UK and Europe before hitting the states from May – August for the USA tour leg. Directed by singer James Bagshaw and premiered on NME, the band recently released a tour video of life on the road – check it out here.
