‘Wolf Alice is ready to shock you.’ – The FADER
‘An angrier, catchier, just plain greater second album.’ – NME
‘The Londoners’ latest bursts with glorious ferocity.’ – Observer
‘The best band of the decade just stepped it up.’ – DIY

Wolf Alice release ‘Sadboy’, the fifth single from the band’s acclaimed second album Visions Of A Life, which debuted in the UK charts at number two and was named in the top three best albums of 2017 by NME, Q and Drowned in Sound. The band will be treating their fiercely loyal Australian fans to a headline tour in September, starting in Brisbane on September 22 and finishing in Melbourne on September 26 at their second Corner Hotel show (the first one on September 25 has sold out).

In the video, singer Ellie Rowsell delivers a strong performance in which we follow her journey on what initially appears to be a night out with the band. As the evening progresses, cracks in her façade start to appear, giving a foreboding sense of the darkness lurking underneath and an unravelling mental state. The single is released following nominations for Wolf Alice for Best British Band at the BRIT and NME Awards, with a further Best Album NME nomination for Visions Of A Life.

Wolf Alice recently brought their explosive live shows to Australia & New Zealand, touring exclusively for Laneway Festival 2018 and leaving behind a huge impression.

Visions of a Life, the follow-up to their 2015 debut LP My Love Is Cool, made countless ‘best of 2017’ lists around the world; locally, across The Sydney Morning Herald, TheMusic, Coup De Main, Pilerats and more.

In the lead-up to the release of Visions of a Life, the band revealed four tracks – the exhilarating rage-rush that was ’Yuk Foo’’ (premiered by Annie Mac on BBC Radio 1), the beautifully paced, sweet and slow-burning ’Don’t Delete The Kisses’ (premiered on Beats 1 & reached #1 most played on triple j), the anthemic celebration of individuality that is single ‘Beautifully Unconventional’ (A-List on NNC Radio 1) and final teaser, ’Heavenward’, a cloudburst of shoegazey guitar and vaulting vocals.

Wolf Alice are Ellie Rowsell (vocals, guitar), Joff Oddie (guitar, vocals), Theo Ellis (bass) and Joel Amey (drums, vocals). The band’s 2015 debut album My Love Is Cool hit No. 2 in the UK charts in June of that year, and No. 12 on the Billboard alternative albums chart in the US. They were nominated for the Mercury prize, Ivor Novello Award, a Brit for Breakthrough Act and Grammy for Best Rock Performance, and took home an NME Award for Best Live Band. They crisscrossed the UK, the US, Australia (Falls Festival 2014, Splendour in the Grass 2015 + headline shows), Japan and Europe on the mother of all two-year tours.

Visions Of A Life is fundamentally a personal album, and one of great growth for Wolf Alice. From opener ‘Heavenward’ through to the epic, eight-minute closing title track, it’s packed with surprises for those who think they know what Wolf Alice’s shtick is.
