Frontier Touring are thrilled to congratulate both Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band and Hunters & Collectors on their wins at last night’s 2014 Helpmann Awards.

For the second year in a row, Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band and Frontier Touring have received the Helpmann Award for ‘Best International Contemporary Concert’.

The 2014 High Hopes tour picked up where 2013’s Wrecking Ball tour left off, seeing the band perform to over 261,000 fans across thirteen shows in Australia and New Zealand – including two mammoth stadium shows at Melbourne’s AAMI Park.

The tour included the band’s first ever shows in Perth, Adelaide and Hunter Valley and first Auckland shows in more than a decade. In addition, return visits to Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane were on the cards after a run of sold out shows on Australia’s East Coast less than twelve months earlier.

The marathon performances and infectious energy that are synonymous with a Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band show saw them sell out shows across the country, with additional shows rapidly added to meet demand.

With the likes of Hunters and Collectors, Jimmy Barnes and Dan Sultan as special guests and set lists filled with covers of Australian classics and some of Springsteen’s most iconic albums in their entirety, it’s no surprise that Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band were once again heralded as the tour of the year:

‘Springsteen is in a league of his own and it is heartening to see how many kids are at these shows witnessing how it’s done properly.’ – Herald Sun

‘The E Street Band have raised the bar well beyond anything this town has seen, or is likely to see any time soon.’ – The Age «««««

‘There was no intermission, no breaks. Just rock ‘n’ roll. This one will be talked about for a long while.’ – Billboard

‘The three-hour extravaganza reaffirmed the Boss’s reputation as the best live performer in rock‘n’roll… It was a once in a lifetime end to a show that could hardly have been bettered.’ – The Guardian «««««

Giving the country a masterclass in Australian rock & roll, Hunters & Collectors, Roundhouse Entertainment and Frontier Touring have received the 2014 ‘Best Australian Contemporary Concert’ Helpmann Award for their a day on the green winery tour and series of theatre shows earlier this year.

Their first tour since 1998, Hunters travelled the country from the Australia Day long weekend through until mid-April in celebration of Crucible – The Songs Of Hunters & Collectors (out now through Liberation Music), a lovingly curated album featuring 15 stunning tributes from The Living End, Birds Of Tokyo, Neil Finn & Eddie Vedder and Paul Kelly among many others accompanied by 15 original H&C recordings.

‘The masters of musical complexity and dynamics are back and still capable and more than willing to rock hard where it’s called for. When you look around and see 8000 people dancing, that’s a sure sign of great rock and roll.’ – Forte Mag

‘Everyone of our age has a ‘Hunnaz’ story: it may involve wild nights in seedy bars; songs that soundtracked pivotal life events; that make us laugh or cry; or that tell us truths about ourselves and those around us… Such is the band’s incredible back catalogue that the show’s pace never slackens for a moment.’ – 100% Rock Magazine

‘…a two-hour, 23-song hit parade down memory lane. To borrow a phrase from the Hunnas’ own songbook, it is hard to keep a good band down.’ – AdelaideNow
