The Lineup:

Northeast Party House, a Melbourne-based six-piece landlord’s nightmare that formed in 2010 after a two-week-long house party. They were first unearthed by triple j back in 2010 with their single ‘Dusk’, and by the time they dropped their full-length debut album Any Given Weekend in 2014, they had already established themselves as one of Australia’s biggest ‘underground’ artists. After touring the world and establishing a fan base in both the US and UK, they returned to Australia in 2016 to bring fans Dare, their incredible sophomore album. Their collection of guitar heavy dance jams, was recorded at Hackney Road Studios in London as well as a variety of local Melbourne studios. NPH favourites include ‘For You’ and ‘Youth Allowance’.

Tom Trago began DJing at the age of 15 in coffee shops in Amsterdam. Now he sells out clubs around the world. Blending disco, boogie, synth funk, Detroit techno + more against insatiable house rhythms, Trago has an intrinsic grasp of what makes dancefloors tick. It’s this blend, not to mention his love of collaborating with musicians, vocalists and producers from Amsterdam and beyond (think Romanthony, San Proper, Awanto 3, Cinnaman, Tyree Cooper and Bok Bok), which makes his music so irresistible. Given his impressive track record, it’s perhaps unsurprising that several of his tracks – not least the rush-inducing ‘Use Me Again’ and 2015’s equally delicious ‘Hidden Heart Of Gold’ and ‘Brutal Romance’ – sound like future classics.

Total Giovanni DJs make up the most sexually charged discothèque this side of the tropic of Capricorn. Earning notoriety from their visually unique and highly energetic live shows, three members of the band, Frankie Topaz, Spike Punch and Shattered Guru will come together on November 19 to mix dance music that enables collective psychic liberation. With sets that move from smooth boogie to shamanic disco and heartbreak house, TG have built a reputation on whipping small music venues into wild bacchanalian frenzies. Prepare yourselves.

LOSSLESS is a collaboration between Melbourne artists Oscar Key Sung and HTMLflowers. Oscar Key Sung is something ecstatic and undone, a sound that winds simultaneously through RnB’s golden past and pop’s near future. HTMLflowers cites Wu-Tang Clan, Björk, Alps of New South Wails and Destiny’s Child among others as his inspiration. His thought provoking rap adds a deeper layer to the music of LOSSLESS. The combined forces of these two, while eclectic and undefinable, fit together like a jigsaw. Hear the magic in tracks ‘Teeth Real Yellow’ and ‘My Clique’.

Nite Fleit is the queen of chugging Balearic, acid and industrial beat. Her obsessive DJ practice and insatiable appetite for records has seen Nite Fleit quickly become an important fixture in the local scene. A regular at Melbourne’s Power Station, she’s graced the stages at Dark Mofo and the Sydney Biennale, and supported the likes of Maurice Fulton, Public Possession and Scott Fraser. Listen to her latest mix on Soundcloud here.

Jennifer Loveless is a key player in Melbourne’s underground electronic music scene. Born in Toronto and having played the likes of Camp Nong, DAYDREAMS, Gaytimes and Strawberry Fields in Melbourne, Rose Quartz Festival in Tasmania, World Pride in Toronto and The Great Wall of China Music Festival in Beijing, Jennifer Loveless’ range of experiences is evident in her sound. Classically trained in piano from the age of three, Loveless brings a vast amount of musical knowledge to her DJ practice. Hear it here.
