To the delight of fans across the nation, James Blunt will be returning to Australia for a series of shows in Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth this May in support of his latest album Some Kind Of Trouble.

A seasoned performer, James Blunt has travelled the world many times over following the success of his previous two albums which led to multiple tours, Brit Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, World Music Awards and Grammy nominations.

Blunt’s debut Back To Bedlam, home to his most recognizable singles and quintessential ballads ‘You’re Beautiful’ and ‘Goodbye My Lover’, was deemed the best selling album of the decade in the UK by British chart compiler the Official Charts Company and marked Platinum eight times over here in Australia.

2007’s follow up All The Lost Souls debuted at #1 in ten countries across the globe and was Blunt’s second album to hit #1 on the ARIA album charts, achieving Platinum sales with hits ‘1973’ and ‘Carry You Home’ and sold nearly 5 million copies worldwide.

Released earlier this month, Some Kind Of Trouble is shaping up to follow suit whilst marking a refreshing change in direction for the popular artist.

First single ‘Stay The Night’ is significantly brighter than previous singles and signifies a welcome transition in Blunt’s career as he showcases his versatility as an artist whilst retaining the poignancy and heart that saw him attract a large, international following of adoring fans.

Blunt has expressed his excitement toward performing songs from Some Kind Of Trouble live as that is where he truly finds enjoyment, advising “We’re going to have the time of our lives playing these songs”.

Whilst songwriting is a dear passion to him, it is sharing his music live with his fans that James Blunt truly enjoys – a sentiment instantly translated at his shows and appreciated by all in attendance.

“There was something honest and plainspoken about this performance – the opening night of a world tour – which showcased an undeniable talent at work… Blunt’s singing was extraordinary. Blessed with a strikingly unique tone and timbre, his voice remained poised on the very edge of a falsetto without ever losing its balance.”  – The Times

“For fans, the concert was all they could have wished for…” – The Telegraph

Prepare to be swept off your feet as James Blunt embarks on his national tour of Australia May 2011.
