James Crooks

Liberation Records are pleased to reveal ‘Move On’, the brand new single from Melbourne-come-Newcastle producer and multi-instrumentalist James Crooks. ‘Move On’ is moody and emotive with an infectious beat and inviting melody. To complete the arrangement, James Crooks has enlisted a heart wrenching vocal from local artist Coast & Ocean (aka Alex Johnson).

“’Move On’ is about moving on from something that wasn’t the right scenario at the time. It’s about realising you have to make the decision to leave a situation that is bringing you down.”

While ‘Move On’ represents a fresh start for James Crooks – the artist is no newcomer to the scene. After signing with Liberation Records, he dropped ‘Naturally (feat. Paige IV)’ – aka Sarah Aarons – and ‘Not Going Away (feat. Kate Martin) – which featured on Spotify’s New Music Friday. James Crooks also co-wrote and featured on ‘Be Like You’ with Esoterik and ASTA, and also features in its highly caffeinated video clip. James Crooks also flexed his creativity last year by releasing a handful of remixes, including Lorde’s ‘Homemade Dynamite’ and Post Malone’s ‘Congratulations’ – all of which can be found here.

James Crooks boasts co-writes with the likes of Rüfüs Du Sol, Esoterik, Thelma Plum and Tyne-James Organ, and has toured with and supported Thelma Plum, Glass Animals, HEALTH, SAFIA and Chance Waters, just to name a few.
