Frontier Touring are pleased to announce the promotion of Sahara Herald to the role of Tour Director, following the recently announced departure of Michael Harrison to the USA with AEG Global Touring.

Since joining Frontier in 2014, Sahara has utilised her wealth of skills and experience to help ensure the considerable success of touring luminaries such as Troye Sivan, Lorde, The Killers, Muse, Harry Styles and most recently Sam Smith.  Sahara was also integral in delivering the record breaking 2017 tours of iconic Australian artists Paul Kelly and Midnight Oil, the latter being nominated for a Helpmann Award.

In her new role Sahara will be responsible for maintaining and developing many of Frontier’s existing roster of artists, whilst also nurturing new acts and building agent relationships to further diversify working partnerships. Sahara joins fellow Tour Director Gerard Schlaghecke alongside Michael Gudinski in securing tours for Frontier Touring.

Michael Gudinski, Managing Director of Frontier Touring, said of the promotion;

“Sahara has proven time and again her true passion for live music and hard work. Since joining Frontier, she has played a key role in the success of a number of our tours and I’m incredibly excited to see her take this next step with the company as we continue to grow and diversify.”

Sahara said of her new role;

“I’m thrilled and grateful to embrace this next stage of my career and to continue to work with Michael Gudinski and the tremendous team at Frontier Touring to bring memorable live music experiences to audiences across Australia and New Zealand.

“Whilst evolving technology has changed the way we consume music, I still strongly believe that the raw, electric moment of being part of a live concert has the power to bring immeasurable joy and lasting memories to punters. It’s helping deliver those magic moments that keeps me truly engaged and passionate about what I do.”

Sahara joined Frontier after 18 years with Big Day Out as their National Event Coordinator.  In her role there she played an integral part in dealings with international artists such as Kraftwerk, Neil Young, PJ Harvey, Nick Cave, Lily Allen, The Chemical Brothers, Bjork and Rage Against the Machine, as well as seminal Antipodean acts such as Powderfinger, Spiderbait, The Living End, Shihad, Sarah Blasko and Magic Dirt.

A long-standing champion of Australian music, Sahara was born and raised in Brisbane, and started booking venues in 1991 while still studying at the University of Queensland. Sahara dedicates time to numerous fund-raising projects and has previously been a consultant for MusicNSW and the ARIA Hall of Fame Board, as well as currently being a judge for the Queensland Music Awards.

Sahara’s promotion within the Frontier team is just the first announcement for the leading Australasian concert promoter, Michael Gudinski says;

“Michael Harrison has been a core part of the Frontier team for almost two decades. It’s never easy to see a great staff member leave but I’m happy it’s to our good friends at AEG Presents. With his recently announced departure and Frontier’s rapid expansion in recent years, this has been a good time for us to review our situation and I’m pleased to say we will have some further exciting announcements about additions to the Frontier team soon.”

With 2019 just around the corner, Frontier Touring is looking forward to another jam-packed year of concert tours, with tours already confirmed for, amongst others, Kylie Minogue, Norah Jones, Bryan Adams, Arctic Monkeys, Bryan Ferry, Rodriguez, and Lily Allen. |
