Off the back of his breakthrough single releases ‘Dour Nights’ and ‘Alchemy’, Soothsayer are thrilled to welcome artist-on-the-rise Willaris. K  into the label family.

Willaris. K is 23-year-old Jack McAllister. McAllister’s contribution to the electronic music landscape stretches beyond the walls erected by the majority of his contemporaries and has heads turning all around the world.

‘He has already got something that is really hard to attain. If I listen to an hour of music that was kind of similar to his melodic techno, when his track came on, I would know it was his.’  – Pete Tong

‘We came across Jack’s music when one of our other artists, Dro Carey, played it on his triple j Mix Up early last year and we were instantly taken aback. How a kid of 23 years of age could make such anthemic and destructive electronic music that would be at home in the world’s biggest clubs and festivals, having never stepped foot in the UK or Europe. It was an instant wave of euphoria one rarely has.

‘Once we saw him live, playing to a handful of people in Northcote on the support trail, we knew we had to make him a part of the family. He had the energy and army, both musically and physically. This is Willaris. K and he is here to make everyone take notice. We certainly did.’ – Chris Rigney (Soothsayer)

At triple j, ‘Dour Nights’ and ‘Alchemy’ have been played over 200 times, making him one of the most played unsigned artists of last year, with similarly impressive spins at FBi Radio.

Heralded by national tastemakers as one of the most exciting producers of 2017, Willaris. K has supported the likes of Seekae and George Fitzgerald and played explosive sets at Splendour in the Grass, Strawberry Fields, Groovin’ The Moo, BIGSOUND, Volumes Festival and Output Festival.

McAllister’s live show plots a course through emotional peaks and troughs and has the rare capacity to move people both above the shoulders and below the waist. Playing 20+ live shows and festivals nationally in the last 12 months, Willaris. K has generated a kinetic buzz from his live sets that has spread like wildfire through industry and fans alike; no small feat for an artist with only two tracks out in the world.

Rounding out an incredible 2017 by signing a deal with Melbourne-based label Soothsayer, we are thrilled to confirm that in 2018 the momentum will continue for Willaris. K – in our opinion, one of Australia’s most promising electronic artists. Watch this space.
